3 year olds

Dancers will be introduced to pre-ballet, creative movement and beginning tumbling skills, learning basic ballet terminology in a fun, positive and nurturing atmosphere. (This is a 45 minute class)

4 year olds thru 1st grade

(Dancers must be 4 years old by October 1st) These combination classes will include ballet, tap and tumbling. Dancers will learn basic skills and terminology in ballet and focus on beginning steps and rhythms in tap while gaining upper body strength in tumbling. (This is a 45 minute class)

Ballet

(2nd grade and up) The foundation for most forms of dance. This classical style and technique allows the dancer to understand posture, body alignment, flexibility, coordination and balance while learning focus and discipline. This artistic style is done with grace, fluidity and often tells a story. We encourage taking ballet to compliment your other dance classes.

Tap

(2nd grade and up) A style in which the rhythm is audibly tapped out with clarity and articulation with the toes and heels while wearing tap shoes.

Jazz

(2nd grade and up) Dynamic movement focusing on flexibility, isolations, leaps and style using clean lines and performed to upbeat or fast-paced music.

Hip Hop

(5th grade and up) An urban street style of energetic movement including such styles as funk, popping and tutting as well as self-expression.

Musical Theatre

(2nd grade and up) This class will explore acting, singing, and dancing to favorite music from Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, Bye Bye Birdie, and many, many more. This class will also learn about Broadway shows, choreographers and their styles such as Bob Fosse (Chicago & Pippin), and Jerome Robbins (Westside Story & Fiddler on the Roof).

Pointe

(on recommendation of teacher) Students will expand their classical ballet vocabulary and knowledge while being introduced to more advanced and intricate patterns and sequences of steps “en pointe”. Pointe classes are longer and students are required to be enrolled in a second ballet class.

  • Dance Arts has been a wonderful place for my daughter. They have provided her with not only great dance training, but a place to call a second home. Teresa Vidak and her staff teach fantastic choreography that is always age appropriate and classy. We came to Dance Arts after 5 years at another studio, and we have never regretted our decision to change. Recitals never disappoint, and are always beautiful and fun. Teresa communicates well with the parents, she is always personable and supportive. We are proud to be with Dance Arts!

  • Both my daughters started dancing at Dance Arts when they were in pre-school and continued through high school. As a parent, it was important to me to have them learn dance skills but also to be in a place where they felt safe and respected. Dance Arts is that type of environment. The staff are positive role models and take the time to get to know each student and their families. My daughters developed dance skills that allowed them to be successful not only at the studio but also with high school dance teams. Performances and recitals are beautifully designed and were the highlight of my daughters' years in dance.
